Saved Duplicate 2019

The artist continues his exploration of the story behind their flat in Fillér Street. Upon moving into their new home, the artist noticed a strange phenomenon among the abandoned everyday objects left behind by the previous dweller, organist János Sebestyén: he found duplicates – two completely identical or similar versions – of certain objects. Continuing along the same vein, he added to the collection of objects from his own family’s repository of remembrance – his deceased grandfather’s belongings – thereby creating a portrait
of an era from these intertwining family stories, inherited in different ways.
