Untitled (books)

The works in the series Untitled are inspired by Marcell Esterházy's recent and most intense family experience: the loss of his father. The works, created as part of the mourning process, operate as specific memorials in the public spaces of the exhibition. In the case of Untitled (books), the woodwork representing the elements of a bookshelf displaying Péter Esterházy’s most important works was made from the trunks of fruit trees that stood in the yard of the family home in Rómaifürdő for decades until they were stricken by a fatal disease.
